Caring for you at home

Deciding on the best care services for yourself or a loved one is a difficult decision; understanding the process is the first step to you being able to make an informed decision.

Step 1 – Find out what your options are

It is important you understand your options fully to decide what’s best for all. An important part of that process is talking to us. We are happy to listen to you and to talk in depth about how we can work together.

Give us a call on 0800 052 0163

or email us at enquiries@amgnursing.com and we will take you through your options.

Step 2 – Care assessment meeting

Once you decide that AMG Nursing and Care Services is your preferred choice, we will come and meet you to discuss your requirements in much more detail. During this meeting we can answer any questions, discuss your care options, and outline why AMG's experience allows us to understand the level of care required. This would generally be with your local manager who will be with you, supporting you right from the outset.

This meeting will allow us to start preparing your individual support plan -the documentation that will detail your personal requirements such as how you like things done, your preferences, personal care, medication, mobility issues, routines, favourite pastimes, important people - which enables us to prepare an tailored and personalised support care arrangement that meets your exact needs. We suggest that all members of the family involved in making the decision to have care along with, of course, the most important person of all - the one who needs care.

Step 3 – Final quotation

At the end of or following or your care assessment meeting with your local manager, they will prepare a quote that details the level of care that we believe is required and the associated costs. Our quotation will include all costs with no hidden surprises such as agency fees, VAT etc.

Step 4 – Matching process

One of the most important steps is the carer to customer matching process. We take the selection of the right carer to the right customer very seriously. We employ many carers at all experience levels and with a variety of interests and skills and will supply a choice of individual carer profiles which we think best suit your individual requirements. From this you can choose who you prefer. To set your mind at rest, as we understand this is such an important decision, we can will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ meeting so that you can meet your prospective carer.

Step 5 – Care begins

Once care begins your local care manager will support you, your family and your carer through the whole time we are supporting you. Contactable by you, your family or your carer for any advice, support or questions we are there for you every step of the way. Your care manager will visit you from time to time to ensure that we are, at all times, continuing to provide you with a quality service.
