Learning Disability

AMG has been providing specialist support for children and their families for over 20 years. We recognise that it takes a special person to care for a child with a learning disability and identify staff who demonstrate aptitude, experience and compassion.  Our learning disability nurse works closely with and trains our careers to provide the relevant skills to meet the child’s individual needs, we will also ensure they have the necessary skills to meet the needs of each individual child, to manage any health problems such as epilepsy, severe allergies, asthma, diabetes etc.

Personal Health Budget

We understand that for some families being able to manage their own health budget allows them to obtain help and support to their child in a way that fits into their family life.

To ensure that careers are trained and competent to care for their child, AMG can provide a package of training to ensure that careers can deliver care safely and competently, required competencies and costs are agreed prior to training, which is delivered by one of our paediatric team, who hold a relevant teaching qualification. In addition we will ensure that careers receive the required competency updates and reassessments.
